Worship Song by Roger Helton, “Bare Hands”
Posted by Steve on June 5, 2007
I sang a new song in church Sunday. It’s a worship song on Billy Wayne’s latest album. Billy was near here recently…love this guy. I really liked the song, so I contacted the songwriter, Roger Helton for his track. He was really open to helping me do the song. I didn’t get a chance to sing with the track, but I played my guitar.

Here’s my version Sunday.
You can also hear clips from Roger (use Real Player) and Billy. Different styles, but one beautiful song.
Hope you like it. Here are the lyrics.
Bare Hands
by Roger Helton
1st Verse
I own no pride In deeds I have done.
I bring no claims of worth in me, to lay before your throne.
All that I have left is need for knowing you,
As I lay down the idols that I’m holding to.
CHORUS
With these bare hands and broken will,
With an empty place made in my heart,
That only you can fill,
Forsaking all,
My schemes and plans,
I reach for you with these bare hands.
2nd Verse
I need your hand, but I seek our face
I worship you, for you alone are worthy of my praise.
It’s all about what you have done, not what I do,
As I learn to let go and trust in you.
