Preaching, Andy Stanley
Show up every Sunday morning with a burden that is so heavy that you feel like you will die if you don’t deliver it. And pray for that. Because if you don’t have that, then you just have information.~~Andy Stanley

Prayer, Pastor, Preaching
No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. The pulpit can be a shop window to display one’s talents; the prayer closet allows no showing off.~~Leonard Ravenhill

The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.~~Samuel Chadwick

You don’t want to be receiving God’s minimum; you want to be enjoying His maximum. And that requires a heart that knows Him, loves Him, recognizes His voice, and understands how the only worthy answer to Him is, ‘Yes, Lord!’ ~~Henry Blackaby, Experiencing the Cross

Change not the masses but change the fabric of your own soul and your own visions, and you change all~~Author Unknown
This next bit of worldly wisdom inspired me especially by the man who told it to me (well-placed epithet, and all). Here’s to standing together when you can’t please anyone:
An old man, a boy,and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey, and the old man walked. As they went along they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the boy was riding. The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions.
Then, later, they passed some people who remarked, “What a shame, he makes that little boy walk.” So they then decided they’d both walk!
Soon they passed some more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So, they both rode the donkey.
Now they passed some people who shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a poor donkey. The boy and man figured they were probably right, so they decide to carry the donkey.
As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned. The moral of the story? If you try to please everyone, you might as well kiss your ass goodbye!~~Author Unknown
Look to the turtle who only makes progress when he sticks out his neck. ~~unknown
The heart of fools is in their mouth; but the mouth of the wise is in their heart~~Martin Luther
The man who keeps busy helping the man below him will not have time to envy the man above him; and there may not be anyone above him.~Author Unknown
We cannot solve problems by using he same kind of thinking we used when we created them.–Albert Einstein
